IATF 16949 The International Automotive Task Force
Quality Management System Requirements for Automotive Production & Relevant Service Parts Organisations

IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management
The automotive industry’s most widely used international standard for quality management, ISO/TS 16949 has now been replaced to bring it into line with ISO9001:2015
The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) has taken responsibility for the standard and it has now been reborn as; IATF 16949:2016 it was was published by the IATF and therefore supersedes and replaces the current ISO/TS 16949:2009.
It defines the requirements of a Quality Management System for organizations in the automotive industry.
This is not a standard to be taken lightly in summary this standard expands the requirements of ISO9001:2015 quite extensively especially in respect of clause 8. Operation. To achieve certification to this standard will in a lot of cases require fundamental cultural change.
IATF 16949 will only be accepted by an automotive tier one customer if it is certified by a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. UK National Certification can offer a certificate of compliance only.
